For those who ordered plants:
  • Plants will be available for pick up in Westlock on Saturday April 27, 2024 
  • Bring a box to transport your plants home in. I do not have trays for you to take home.
  • Plants will be in a variety of recycled newspaper pots, reused plastic pots, or large soil blocks (in my effort to reduce waste in my business)

Anemone

An enchanting spring flower. If you have a nice part-shade area to plant them in, you might be lucky enough to enjoy their blooms all summer long. 

I am selling specialty cut flower varieties developed by Italian flower breeders for the cut flower industry. Normally only available to commercial growers, but I’m treating you to these wonders this spring.

  • Spacing: 6”
  • Plant Height: 10-18” 
  • Light Preference: Will tolerate all light conditions. Extend bloom season by planting in part-shade areas. 
  • Bloom season: early summer (June-early July)
  • Plant outside: As soon as you receive them; they can handle some cooler weather
  • Uses: Excellent cut flower and landscape plant to add whimsical pops of colour to your garden.

Ranunculus

An excellent spring cut flower & garden plant.

  • Light Preference: Sun. Extend bloom season by planting somewhere with protection from hot afternoon sun. 
  • Plant outside: As soon as you receive them; they can handle some cooler weather
  • Bloom season: early summer (June-early July)
  • Uses: Excellent cut flower and landscape plant to add early summer colour to your garden.

Lisianthus

A premium cut flower, well loved for their rose-like appearance. I’d argue they’re even better than roses with their rich colour selections and extra petal ruffles!

Notoriously difficult to start from seed and take 8-9 months to flower from seed. Luckily I’ve mastered this skill and am happy to share some of my well-loved seedlings with you for your own garden.

  • Light Preference: Sun

  • Uses: Excellent cut flower, and adds a juicy pop of colour in garden plantings

Foxglove

These are special cut flower varieties that bloom the first year from seed, unlike most foxglove which are biennial. 

 

Blooms prolifically all summer when you continue to remove spent blooms. A classic cottage garden flower and a workhorse in any cutting garden.

 

Pollinators LOVE foxglove!

 

Caution: All parts of this plant are poisonous, including the seeds. Exercise extreme caution around children and pets.

  • Uses: Excellent cut flower. Good in borders, masses, woodplant plantings, cottage gardens. 

Craspedia

Unique plant has grass-like, silvery green foliage and produces golden yellow spherical blooms that are excellent in fresh and dried flower arrangements and add fun texture to your garden.

  • Uses: Excellent cut flower (fresh and dried). Great for flower beds, borders, and mass plantings. 

Verbena Bonariensis

A fun name to say, and a unique plant for the garden – very whimsical, cottage-garden style accent plant that produces purple flowering clusters on numerous branching stems.

 

Pollinators love this one!

  • Uses: Cut flower (fresh and dried). Great for flower beds, borders, containers, pollinator & mass plantings.

Hibiscus Mahogany Splendor

Decorative, deeply cut foliage with maple-leaf appearance, rich color. *Does not produce flowers* This is an excellent dark foliage plant for the garden.

 

Grows vigorously and becomes large. Great for filling in space in your garden.

 

Drought- and heat-tolerant plants are suitable for containers and landscape planting.

  • Light Preference: Sun. Hibiscus thrives in heat and humidity so is best grown in full sun
  • Safe to plant outside: After last spring frost (this plant is sensitive to frost)
  • Uses: Rich foliage to add to your garden in containers or as a landscape backdrop in garden/patio. Can also be used as cut foliage in flower arrangements.
